Meet Your Provider
I'm Nycole A. Cox, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, a Board-Certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing affirming, culturally responsive mental health care for individuals from diverse backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ communities and people of color.
Many of my patients have spent years navigating environments where they felt misunderstood, overlooked, or pressured to suppress parts of themselves in order to succeed. Whether you're managing the stress of discrimination, identity-related challenges, family conflict, workplace pressures, or the emotional toll of constantly having to prove yourself, you deserve a space where you can show up authentically and be fully supported.
My path into psychiatric care became personal after experiencing burnout in high-pressure healthcare environments. I understand what it's like to carry significant responsibility while feeling emotionally exhausted and disconnected from yourself. That experience deepened my commitment to helping others who may be struggling silently beneath the surface.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Kent State University and my Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati. With 12 years of experience as a Registered Nurse and 7 years as a Nurse Practitioner, I have worked in Urgent Care, Family Practice, Weight Loss Management, and Psychiatry before focusing exclusively on mental health care.
Mental health challenges often extend beyond symptoms alone. For many marginalized individuals, anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma, and self-doubt can be shaped by experiences of bias, exclusion, cultural expectations, or a lack of safe spaces to be fully seen and heard. These experiences can leave you feeling isolated, overwhelmed, or disconnected from your sense of identity and purpose.
My role is to help you heal and move forward without judgment, assumptions, or one-size-fits-all solutions. I provide thoughtful, concierge-style psychiatric care that prioritizes collaboration, respect, and individualized treatment. Together, we focus on improving emotional wellness, building resilience, and creating a life that feels aligned with who you truly are.
Patients often describe me as compassionate, thorough, and easy to talk to. I take time to understand your unique experiences, provide education about your mental health, and develop treatment plans that reflect your goals, values, culture, and lived experiences.
Outside of my practice, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my dogs—simple reminders that rest, connection, and joy are essential parts of overall well-being. I believe mental health care should feel the same way: affirming, supportive, and designed around you.
